Move over Ariana. The new YouTube queens are here.
K-pop girl group BLACKPINK just made history as their new music video "Kill This Love" became the most viewed in the first 24 hours of all time.
A YouTube spokesperson said that "Kill This Love" earned 56.7 million views in the first 24 hours to edge out Ariana Grande's "thank u, next" MV, which had 55.4 million views and held the title for several months.
As such, BLACKPINK also hold the distinction of having the most watched K-pop video of all time – even more than BTS' "IDOL" music video, which had 45.9 million views for its debut.
But BTS have the chance to reclaim the title and become No. 1 overall when their new album "Map of the Soul: Persona" comes out on April 12.
YouTube also said that BLACKPINK had set two more YouTube records.
"Kill This Love" became the fastest music video to gain 100 million views, reaching the milestone in under 3 days.
It also set the "biggest YouTube Premiere of all time, with peak concurrents reaching over 979,000."
In the top 10 most viewed music video in the first 24 hours of all time, fourth is Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" with 43.2 million views, followed by Eminem's "Killshot" with 38.1 million views.
